Luckily my grandfather had the smarts to pull me out of there before I went ape **** on them. Oh man, it was just one thing on top of another. *THEN* I come to find out that the "FORD" extended warranty I'd purchased wasn't through the Ford Company. They didn't bother telling me that at 30K it's more than just an oil change, so that's all they did to it, and when my transmission screwed up on me at 34K, the repairs weren't covered by my warranty because I hadn't had the transmission serviced. I told them I'd never had a car this new before (my other 3 cars all had 90K+ when I bought them) and I needed the 30K oil change. YAY! Anyways, from now on, I'm taking my car to the Sears Auto Center for oil changes and stuff, considering how bad Ford screwed me up when I went in for my 30K service. I took the car to my grandfathers last night and he drilled the holes in it for me, so I now have my plate on the car. Unfortunately, I live in a SMALL town and we only have one Ford dealership. So my question is this-*CAN* I drill holes in the front of my car without taking out anything important (I'm having images of the air bags exploding in the car)? And if so, what size bit should I use and how deep should I make the holes? Those bells have now been joined by a big red flashing light and the Robot saying "DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER". He tells me that they can't make any "non-Ford authorized modifications" to my car. So I ask how much it would cost for them to drill the holes for me. I ask if there's anything behind there that I could damage by attacking the front of my poor, defenseless car with a drill. Hear that? Those are the warning bells going off in my head. Don't use a drill much bigger than 3/16' dia. Use an awl to mark the center of each traced bolt hole and use a small drill (1/16' dia.) to make a pilot hole. Light pressure so you don't press through the painter's tape.

So he tells me that I can drill holes in the car to put the tag on. Hold the license plate where you want it and then use a pencil to trace the bolt holes.

I used an unmodified SSR original front license plate bracket to give it a stock look. The parts guy comes out to look at my car, and sees that I'm right (gee, a girl be right about something on a car?!?! Go figure). The aluminum plate also stabilizes the bottom of the facia using the two holes in the lower inside lip of the facia. I explain that there are still no holes in the front of the car, so the bolts won't help. The mounting kit consists of 4 bolts which are identical to the ones I'm holding in my hand. Special high definition car design, perfectly suitable for.

Luckily they have one in stock, so I go to pick it up. You are free to drill hole and get the name number plate, car rear view camera bracket for your car. They tell me that I have to get a mounting kit for it. I call the local Ford Dealership and explain my problem. Realize that there are no holes in the front of the car to attach the plate to. My mom sent me a plate for the front of my car. If it has, could someone please provide me with the link to that thread? Thanks. What do you guys think? Thanks. This has probably already been asked, but I couldn't find it. I think its real damage to the car and maybe I should make them have it fixed. Of course, my girl says what do you care, you gotta have the plate on I was thinking of driving without it till I got stopped.does anybody think complaining to Chrysler would get me anywhere? I know what talking to the dealer would get me, not much. they could of done it with two.guess the dealer did it.kinda feels like somebody keyed my car, but I'd be way more pissed at that.anyway I'm wondering what I can or even should do about it.of course there are better ways to mount a plate, and I think they should have used one of them instead of drilling permanent sloppy holes in the damn bumper!! The white plastic of the bumper is ridged up around the holes. Then i saw the four raggedy ass drilled holes in the front. Today I took the front mounted plate off the bumper of my two week old 2008Black 3.5L.just wanted to see what it looked like without the plate.
