I also noticed that after my 1hr commute, i reach back and touch the fuel pump control module under the rear seats, it feels hot. The next morning the vehicle started and died. The vehicle started then died after a few feet. Some fuel pumps can develop internal leaks but show the same symptoms of a weak fuel pump that can deliver enough fuel when loads and engine speed increases. I can still gain acceleration if i hit the gas so im thinking its not the HPFP. At first the vehicle acted like the fuel pump was going out.

#Signs of a bad fuel pump module driver#
It seems to be more of Low Pressure Fuel Pump issue or Fuel Pump Control Module. issue to be battery related, it is probable a bad Fuel Pump driver Module. I also stopped to refuel my tank since i was running low (15miles left).Ĭan anyone suggest what the cause of this issue might be? i did some research and i think it might have to do with the fuel pump. I was able to successfully drive it all the way home (25 miles 1hr travel time). After trying to call a tow truck for 15 mins i decided to give it another go and the car started up this time. a faulty fuel pump can prevent fuel from reaching the engine, resulting in a vehicle that won’t start. engine wont start a gasoline engine needs three basic things to run spark, fuel and compression. In some cases, pump electrical issues may trigger the light as well. Once on the side of the road i tried to restart the car but the car would just keep cranking. a faulty fuel pump can lead to a wide range of symptoms and engine performance problems. A weak fuel pump may throw off your car’s air/fuel ratio, causing the engine control module (ECM) to turn on the check engine light. A damaged fuel pump that cannot move enough fuel to the engine will result in an engine that will have to be cranked excessively before it starts. Today i was driving up hill and as i was accelerating i noticed after 3k rpms it seemed as if my car went limp, i pressed the gas pedal and there was no response so i pulled over to the side of the road. Finally, perhaps the clearest warning sign that your fuel pump is no longer working properly is that you have issues starting your engine.
